Christmas Cribs

When I think of Christmas, the first thing that comes to my mind is a Christmas Crib (also known as Nativity Scene or Manger Scene). To me, Christmas won’t be complete without a Christmas Crib and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Christmas Crib is a representation of how Jesus was born in this world.

Every year we use to make Christmas cribs during the first week of December and will keep it until Epiphany is over. Epiphany is the 12th Day after Christmas which falls on January 6th this year(2012), announcing  the visitation of Three Kings or Wise Men to baby Jesus. Every year I make sure that wont recreate the same crib that I have created in the past and it looks good at the same time. Below is the one I have created this year by making use of crib papers.

My parents (especially my mom) keep a tradition of visiting the Christmas Cribs from various churches in and around my hometown(Chennai, India) once when the Christmas is over. This year, I also joined my mom and visited few churches and took pictures of Xmas cribs. Out of those, the Crib from St. Antony’s Church, Armenian Street, was so beautiful and I could hardly take my eyes off it. It was so nicely crafted and the details were astonishing! Glad to post all these pictures here!
